Vehicles are not conductive to earth as they run on rubber tyres!
Yes, cars are made of metal which is conductive. However they sit on tires which are rubber and are not conductive. Grounding yourself to the metal in the car is useless as it is not grounded to the ground. That is why you are not electrocuted if a power line lands on your car – unless you touch both the car and the ground simultaneously. I talked to an electrical engineer and he said if you had a metal thing attached to the car dragging on the ground, then the car would be grounded – however that has issues in creating sparks and is not advised.
In response to Maria: These are some very interesting shoes but they have a rubber sole, which is definitely not conductive, and cork works as an insulator, so unfortunately not conductive as far as we can tell.
How about natural Cork? Is cork conductive? Meaning I can wear cork shoes and be conductive? I love the shoes on culturaportuguesa.eu but I don’t know if they work as earthing shoes.
In reply to MaryEllen White: We do not have a catalog at the moment but feel free to give us a call 855-273-2181. If you tell us what you are looking for we can recommend the right product for you.
In reply to Ken Higgins: Yes dead leaves would be conductive so long as they are still on the earth’s surface. If you were to pick up leaves and bring them inside on your wood floors, then no…
Automobiles are not grounded. There are instances of high power electric lines on vehicles with no danger to the occupants. These lines are several hundred times higher in voltage than household current. If the vehicle was grounded it would be instant death
How do you define pavement? Pavement just means a surface that is paved so it could be concrete, brick, asphalt, etc. Thanks for the clarification.
Are dead leaves conductive?
Is there an online catalog with all your items in it? I don’t have time to wander throuh all kinds of things I don’t need or want.
In reply to Steve: 😂
My friend Fred Flintstone’s vehicle is earthing
In response to Jay Davidson: I believe any rocks are conductive when you stand on them barefoot or with conductive shoes. Best thing you could do if you are not sure is get a earthing tester and stand on a rock and see.
In response to Jay: Please read our blog on grounding while driving: https://www.theearthingstore.com/blogs/articles/74363907-earthing-while-driving-is-it-possible
What kinds of rock are conductive? If I put my bare feet on limestone for example, will that work for grounding? (Sandstone might be better as it is porous)
How can a vehicle be conductive? 1. the tyres are made of rubber and 2. the road is made of tarmac//bitumen which is not conductive for earthing.
In response to Josetay: the only size 14 footwear we have is SKU BB3107M, 1762W-R (shoes with copper rivet), BB495M, BB37597C-MO, BB4215M, 1461-N and BB11526BL
You can also insert erthe straps to any pair of shoes.
In reply to Kathyann:
I am not 100% sure if you would be grounded on Flagstone Rock. The best thing to do would be to get a ground tester and stand barefoot on the rock and see if you are grounded. Then you would know. It’s always best to be barefoot so leather may prevent the flow a little. Leather will certainly work on grass but not AS effective on rock or concrete. Copper is a better conductor than leather.
Hello, Can I ground through a natural flagstones rock that’s directly on the earth?
Question so I wear a size 14 wide and I cant find any grounding footwear that size is there some speacial place or request I can do to get this size?thanks
I am going to make a grounding/earthing sheet and some mats and wondered if you had any instructions for how to attach the wire to the fabric and then onto a copper grounding rod. The fabric that I have found is Copper+Nickel+polyester fabric. Looks quite good and says it cuts and sews like fabric. Do you think it will be OK and how do I connect the wire cable to it?
Question: Is it safe to wear earthing shoes in a fully electric car? Would you draw the positive energy from the batteries underneath?
Do socks have to be cotton to ground you?
I use Nikken magnetic insole in my shoes
I am wondering why copper socks would not be good for earthing – I have seen copper and cotton socks – if silver is connective in socks why not copper?
Is there any type of lounge chair that would work for grounding?
